We have all made commitments to ourselves in regards to the direction that we want to take our lives and more than not have we failed over succeeded. Stepping back and taking a look at the journey It has been apparent that when you have someone you need to be accountable to you are more likely to work towards your goal. Some people like to keep their personal goals personal and that is ok, but if you are someone who needs the support having an accountability partner that you trust may be a great option for you.
An accountability partner is someone who you trust will hold you to the standards that you set for yourself.
Even if you don’t take constructive criticism well your accountability partner should be someone who will “tell it like it is.” If you are looking for real personal growth there is no room for others to tell you what you want to hear. An accountability partner should be powerful enough in your mind to push you when the fatigue sets in to reach further.
Who do they look like?
This person should not be judgmental towards you, someone you trust, and they also confide their goals in you. Being vulnerable to each other with your goals builds trust. Reciprocation is so important in order for this type of partnership to work, especially long term so you both may reach your goals and beyond.
