6 Ways to Stick to Your Workouts

  1. Take Baby Steps- Set small goals, reach them, set bigger goals and go for it. Remember Rhome wasn’t built in a day. Learning perfect form takes time, be patient.
  2. Mix it Up- Find a new program/workout to follow every few months to keep it exciting and challenging.
  3. Find a Workout Partner- Having someone to keep you accountable daily can be a huge help. Find a workout partner and if you need help there’s a new app launching next Jan called Gym Collab. It can help you find others close to you that are also looking for someone to workout with.
  4. Make it a Habit- Don’t set a time of the day to workout if it varies with your schedule. Just make sure you get in a workout every day no matter what. When you can fit it in is the best time.
  5. Track it- Use an app to track each of your workouts to be more accountable and be able to look back at previous workouts.
  6. Music- Create an awesome playlist that motivates you to listen to while you workout.

Training and Proper Nutrition Fails No One

You hear and see the slogan “Just do it” so often. Is it because it belongs to Nike or just because you are replaying it in your head over and over while you’re sitting in the car outside the gym? We all procrastinate at something at one point or another in our lives. This slogan should apply to your training and nutrition routine on the days you want to procrastinate. If you just do it, results will come. If YOU show up AND put in the work, results will come. Training and proper nutrition truly fails no one.

Fit teas, tummy wraps, and miracle pills are all over social media. There is no such thing as a quick fix. Some might say surgery, but even that is not a guaranteed quick fix. It’s all very simple, you put in the work and you get the results. Yes, it takes time and patience, but training and proper nutrition fails no one.

Hand in Hand: Accountability and Consistency & Your Mentality

Accountability and consistency go hand in hand when reaching your goals. Holding yourself accountable to being consistent with your food and nutrition will help you reach your goals much quicker with less setbacks. Especially when holidays come up which generally consist of taking up extra time from traveling, cooking, and lots of extra food around.

Whether it’s Thanksgiving, Christmas, or our upcoming holiday Halloween that entices us with more candy than we see on a daily basis.  Full size or snack size candy bars will always be tempting you around this holiday, but remember you also have to have balance depending on your goals. The same goes for the handfuls of candy corns you don’t think about until later if at all.

Holding yourself accountable and staying consistent can be accomplished by planning your meals, fitting in your workouts (even if they are much shorter than normal,) and being mentally strong to get through each of these tasks when the going gets tough and you want to give up. Over half the battle is mental.

3 Ways to Revamp Your Accountability

Burn out can be so real along your fitness journey. This is something that everyone experiences at some time or another. Whether you are doing the same workouts or eating the same proteins, veggies, and carbs it’s always good to change things up now and again. This is not only for your sanity, but for your progress as well.

  1. As you do your normal workouts for so long your body will get use to them and will stop responding. To keep it interesting and for you to continue to see results change is good. Changing your routine is a good way to get excited about your workouts again. If you are a weights and cardio person change it up by adding movements in between sets. If you generally do strength training using bodyweight only add in some weights or circuit training.
  1. Changing up your food or incorporating new foods into your daily diet will keep your food choices exciting and you are less likely to get bored with your nutrition. Resources like pinterest, youtube, etc offer great healthy recipes from fitness influencers and regular recipe websites. Putting a healthy spin on your favorite dishes is also a great option.
  1. Making a change as easy as how you track your food and water intake along with workouts can help you stay on track and freshen things up. There are several apps and printable food trackers that are available. Etsy offers several great printable options for trackers.

The Ugly Truth About Accountability

Holding yourself accountable isn’t always ideal or fun. There will be days that you would rather not go to the gym or choose your favorite dessert over eating chicken and vegetables. These moments are when you must dig down deep and remind yourself of your goals.

Accountability is exactly that, holding yourself accountable during the times you lack motivation to make the choices you know to be the correct ones. Especially with the holidays around the corner like halloween when the candy is flowing freely and excessively in most homes. Having an accountability partner at this exact time could do wonders for you.

So when we talk about the ugly truth, it is the reflection of “accountability” itself. This is when having goals set and action plans in place are the most important. Constant reminders of these things may also be necessary to keep you on track. Having an accountability partner to talk/text during these struggles can also help get you through such times. Remember to look at the bigger picture and not just right now.

So basically, eat the fun size snickers, find an accountability partner, and add in a little extra cardio this month ( ;

Oreos-Chicken-Donuts:Nutrition Accountability

Accountability on your fitness journey is not only about sticking to your workouts, but also to your eating plan whether this is a customized meal plan like macros or simply portion control. Accountability plays a big part in this no matter what your goals are. This is because your food intake plays an even bigger role in your goals than just going to the gym.

You can’t outwork a bad diet. For some gaining weight can be a challenge. For others its losing weight, gaining muscle, or simply trying to maintain their weight loss. No matter the challenge holding yourself accountable to your plan and eating in a deficit or simply eating enough macro nutrient foods can be the bigger challenge for most individuals. This can be due to your regular daily routine. Remember, in order to see change you must make a change. If you have to change up your social life, make dinner for your family a little differently, or meal prep ahead of time make the time – Make the change. Do this, mainly for yourself, but also for those you love.

Take a few extra minutes during the week and hold yourself accountable by writing your food down and meal prepping if this is what it takes to stay on track with your food. Make the change for you.

The Power of Finding and Thriving with Your Accountability Partner

We have all made commitments to ourselves in regards to the direction that we want to take our lives and more than not have we failed over succeeded. Stepping back and taking a look at the journey It has been apparent that when you have someone you need to be accountable to you are more likely to work towards your goal. Some people like to keep their personal goals personal and that is ok, but if you are someone who needs the support having an accountability partner that you trust may be a great option for you.

An accountability partner is someone who you trust will hold you to the standards that you set for yourself.

Even if you don’t take constructive criticism well your accountability partner should be someone who will “tell it like it is.” If you are looking for real personal growth there is no room for others to tell you what you want to hear. An accountability partner should be powerful enough in your mind to push you when the fatigue sets in to reach further.

Who do they look like?

This person should not be judgmental towards you, someone you trust, and they also confide their goals in you. Being vulnerable to each other with your goals builds trust. Reciprocation is so important in order for this type of partnership to work, especially long term so you both may reach your goals and beyond.

Determine your goals – Find your accountability partner-Reciprocate-Reach your goals
